👋 Hi, I’m Vasiliy Yasko
GIS developer & specialist working with ESRI, QGIS, GeoServer, Unreal Engine (3D/real-time), and modern web/Python.
Currently: working as a GIS developer with years of Smart City project experience. My Goals: deepen expertise in Unreal Engine and ESRI to contribute to Digital Twin development for infrastructure and urban innovation worldwide.
About
I work with
GEOSOL
and
ISGEO
as a GIS developer and GIS specialist. My expertise spans ESRI products and Unreal Engine for 3D visualization,
plus plugins and automation for QGIS, ArcGIS Pro, GeoServer, and PostgreSQL/PostGIS. I also build web apps
(JavaScript, React, Angular, Node.js) and Python backends for data processing and integration.
I’ve contributed to government projects and collaborated with large enterprises (banks, infrastructure) where GIS is mission-critical. I’m active in Smart City initiatives—especially administrative systems and road infrastructure—with a strong focus on digital twins and urban automation.
My goal is to deepen expertise in GIS automation, real-time 3D, and smart-city infrastructure—building scalable systems that connect geospatial data, web tech, and digital twins for impactful applications.
Core skills
- ESRI stack, QGIS, ArcGIS Pro, GeoServer
- PostgreSQL/PostGIS, spatial ETL, data pipelines
- Unreal Engine (3D/real-time visualization)
- JavaScript/TypeScript (React, Angular), Node.js
- Python (automation, APIs, data processing)
- Plugins, extensions, and custom frameworks for GIS
Current focus
- Digital twins for Smart City / infrastructure
- Deploying services with Docker & Kubernetes (k3s) on Linux servers
- Real-time geospatial visualization and automation
- Reliable web services for GIS integrations
Hands-on: VPS / K3s Lab
I run a personal cluster to practice production skills for Digital Twins.
Stack I operate
- K3s (Kubernetes) on Linux (Ubuntu / Fedora / Rocky)
- Traefik (ingress, Let’s Encrypt TLS), Docker runtime
- Keycloak (SSO/IAM), MinIO (S3), OpenSearch (search)
- Prometheus + Grafana (metrics/alerts), Loki (logs)
- Argo CD (GitOps), Helm (packaging), Terraform & Ansible (IaC)
- Proxmox VE (virtualization) for homelab nodes
Operational strengths
- Designing namespaces, RBAC, and network policies
- GitOps workflows, progressive delivery, safe rollbacks
- TLS, OIDC/SSO, and secrets & identity management
- Backups & disaster recovery with S3/object storage
- Observability: metrics, logs, dashboards, alerting
- Cost awareness & right-sizing for edge/DT workloads
